U of M is now beating us by almost 14,000!!!
Lifeline of Ohio is pitting up OSU faithful against U of M fans for organ and tissue donation in the 2010 Buckeye-Wolverine Challenge for Life. Buckeye fans, we are loosing! So what does Lifeline of Ohio do? They phone a friend!
According to Rachel Lewis (Lifeline of Ohio outreach coordinator) “Michigan is leading us by over 14,000 donors but I know the Buckeye faithful can rally and defend our title! Right now more than 108,000 Americans, including 3,000 Ohioans are waiting for an organ transplant. ” We have the opportunity to give them hope and beat Michigan by registering in the Ohio Donor Registry.”
Take PRIDE In the Buckeye’s!
Buckeye fans can show their spirit and participate in the Challenge by logging on to www.lifelineofohio.org/beatmichigan to register their decision in the Ohio Donor Registry. This connects the participant to a secure website maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles where the individual must register their decision to be an organ and tissue donor at the time of death.
You can register for Buckeye 4 life at www.lifelineofohio.org/beatmichigan
“We are working to give Ohioans a chance to be a part of the action and beat Michigan off the field in the Buckeye-Wolverine Challenge for Life.” Said Lewis in an email. ” This life-saving annual event is an effort to see which state can register more new organ and tissue donors before the football match-up. Ohio has won the title four years in a row! The problem is: we’re losing right now, significantly.”
It just takes a FEW MINUTES!
By taking just a few minutes to register your decision to be a donor at the time of your death, you can potentially save eight lives through organ donation and heal more than 50 lives through tissue and eye donation.
I know the Buckeye faithful can rally and defend our title! Rachel Lewis, Lifeline Of Ohio outreach coordinator
Ohio State has won the competition (and the game!) the past four years – let the winning tradition continue and be a Buckeye for Life!
